Materials Photoshop Render
Material Combination 1:
Steel
Concrete
Timber
For the first combination of materials, I chose to use mainly
heavy materials such as steel and concrete as its facades and
frames to give the idea of how the room can appear heavy
and solid as a whole, placed in a virtual setting of the gloomy
Scandinavian backdrop, where selected openings allow light to
enter in at different angles, lighting up spaces to show the
contrast from the background.
Material Combination 2:
Timber
Oak
Mahogany
Steel
For this, I chose mainly wood textures to be all around the
room, apart from the steps, balcony walls and the railings
as I wanted to show how this room will appear light and airy
given how wood can give that effect even with the many
openings around. Placed in a virtual background in the forest,
the choice of materials complement the setting, already letting
light to enter in and soften the spaces inside.
Material Combination 3:
Concrete
Timber
Dark Oak
For this, the combination was a mixture of concrete, timber
and dark oak placed in a virtual setting near the beach. The
choice of materials was to show how they can work together,
achieving a sense of how heavy and light materials can work
, allowing light to enter in at different spaces.
